So we went out to Longhorn the other night and had the most amazing new appetizer. It was parmesan crusted asparagus! I love any roasted vegetable so I ordered them! My husband ate them so fast I nearly had three I think so I decided I could make these and now so can you! You will need these ingredients…
1 bunch of asparagus ( you can do them all or as much or as little as you like!)
- 1 egg beaten on a plate
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 cup of panko or italian brad crumbs ( I used bread crumbs because I had them on hand)
- About 2 tbs of oil for greasing the cookie sheet.
That’s it, that is all you will need, nice huh!! First thing I did was beat that egg onto a plate and put the breadcrumb mixture (breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese) on another plate…
Take a baking sheet ( I lined mine with tin foil for a no mess clean up) and spread oil on pan and then just take a paper towel and rub it out evenly for the asparagus to lay on.
Lay your asparagus out and snap off the ends where they break naturally is usually the right place.
Next lay your asparagus and coat in the egg, making sure it is all covered.
Now take your wet asparagus and roll into the breadcrumb mixture.
Now you are ready to lay them onto your greased pan.
Bake for 20 to 30 min at 350 till tender and golden. These are delicious! Now Longhorn served theirs with that amazing spicy ranch dressing and sadly I did not have any of this on hand. They were super delish even without the sauce! Enjoy!

Looks so good!
Do you mix the cheese in with the breadcrumbs?
Yes, you add the breadcrumbs and parm. cheese together 🙂 Sorry I missed that , but I have added it now into the directions. I hope you enjoy them!
I just had these at Long Horn too and we asked how to make them. I’m going to make some this week. For the sauce the waitress said to mix ranch and sarrachi hot sauce:-)
Thank you Heather for sauce recipe. That dipping sauce was great too! I can not wait to make these.
